What an outstanding job by all our athletes and parents this weekend. Sarasota delivered some tough competition and lessons learned but each an every athlete I saw raced with heart and put forth their absolute best regardless of prerace issues or any challenges that may have popped up during the race.

The Junior Elite races definitely brought in some stiff international competition and gave us a glimpse of what we are up against as we move forward in the season. Stepping up to Junior Elite from Youth Elite is a big one but with patience, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, progress and movement up the developmental pathway can and will come. I am so very proud of the fight for placement I saw from Kemper, Reed and Nico.

In our youth elite races, I am also very pleased to see the form and fitness presented so early in the season. Both Hannah and Ella fought hard in the girls races with Hannah securing her Nationals spot. Congratulations to both these young ladies on their early season races.

In the youth boys race all I can say is WOW. I had a number of coaches come up to me afterwards complimenting our team in general but with Lawson, Braxton and Steven all coming off the bike in the top 10-15 then all finishing within the top 11 that’s just so great to see. Big congratulations are in order to Lawson for earning that 2nd place position on the podium and earning his Nationals spot. Hats of to Steven for running his way into 6th also securing his Nationals spot. This was Braxton’s very FIRST Youth Elite Cup and although just missing his nationals spot is exciting to get a glimpse of what this young man might be able to do with more time and focused training.

Overall this was one of the most fun and rewarding weekends I have experienced since starting Triton and I believe that directly related to all our wonderful kids who have committed to our TEaM and the parents who are all willing to pitch in to make this possible. I am even more excited about this season and am looking forward to shifting gears a bit to getting our younger members ready for Meek n Mighty. This team would not exist without all of your support so (you will hear this a lot from me this year.)..thank you.

Have a great day everyone and again big congratulation to all who raced!
